Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 23, 2026 Last Updated: August 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Chaptr Inc. ("Chaptr," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware corporation with a registered address c/o Corporation Service Company, 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, New Castle County, DE 19808, United States, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Jammr mobile application (the "App") and visit our website at jammr.framer.website (the "Site") (together, the "Service").

Jammr is a multiplayer party game where you and your friends record your voices over music and sounds, listen to each other's takes, and vote on the best one. You must be at least 13 years old to use Jammr.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Quick Summary

The full sections below are legally binding, but here are the essentials:

  • Jammr records your voice. Recording only happens while you are actively holding the record button in a game. We do not listen to or record in the background, and the microphone is never on outside a round. See Section 3.

  • Other players hear your recordings. That is the point of the game. Everyone in your room can play back your takes, and the combined result can be saved and shared by any player in the room — including outside the App. Once a friend shares it, we cannot control where it goes. See Section 4.1.

  • Your Jammr account is anonymous. We do not ask for your name or email address. At onboarding we collect your birth date to confirm you are old enough, and you choose a display handle and avatar.

  • We do not create voiceprints. We do not use your recordings to biometrically identify you, and we do not use them to train AI models.

  • We collect your recordings, your game activity, your votes and results, your purchases, and usage analytics — described in Section 2.

  • Advertising measurement, and how minors are treated differently. We work with AppsFlyer to understand which marketing campaigns bring people to Jammr, and we share limited advertising and event data with advertising platforms including Meta and TikTok (ByteDance). If you tell us you are under 18, we do not show you Apple's tracking prompt, we do not collect your advertising identifier, and we do not share your data for advertising purposes. See Sections 2.5, 4.3, 9, and 11.

  • We do not sell your personal information for money. For adult users, our advertising activities may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" under some state privacy laws — you can opt out as described in Section 11.

  • You must be 13 or older. Jammr is not intended for anyone under 13.

  • You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@jammr.app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

Account setup. Your Jammr account is anonymous. We do not collect your name or email address. At onboarding we collect your birth date to confirm you meet the age requirement and to determine how we treat your data (see Section 9).

Display handle and avatar. If you create a profile after winning a game, you choose a handle and an illustrated avatar. Both are visible to other players. Do not use your full legal name or any other identifying information as your handle.

Voice recordings. The audio you record during rounds. See Section 3 for full detail.

Support communications. If you contact us at support@jammr.app, we receive the information you provide.

Reports. If you report another player, a recording, or content in the App, we receive your report and the material you flag.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Game activity. The rooms you join or create, the packs and scenes you play, your recordings, the votes you cast and receive, your results and win history, and the combined tracks generated from your sessions.

Purchases. A record of your in-app purchases and subscription status (processed by the app stores and our purchase-management provider — see Section 4.2).

Usage analytics. Product-analytics information about how the App is used (screens viewed, features used, crashes and performance), which helps us fix bugs and improve the App — including recording reliability, which is the most common technical problem in an app like this.

Device and app identifiers. For users 18 and over, we and our advertising-measurement provider collect:

  • the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS — only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt — and the equivalent advertising ID on Android where available;

  • the Identifier for Vendor (IDFV), which identifies your device to Chaptr's apps only;

  • an AppsFlyer ID, an identifier our attribution provider assigns to your app installation;

  • your anonymous Jammr account identifier, which we send to AppsFlyer as a "customer user ID" so that install and in-app events can be matched to the correct account.

We do not collect the IDFA or advertising ID from users who tell us they are under 18, and we do not show those users the ATT prompt.

Attribution and campaign data. Information about how you found and installed Jammr — for example, the ad, campaign, channel, or link you came from — along with install, session, and conversion events (such as completing onboarding, finishing a game, or making a purchase).

Technical/log data. Our infrastructure providers process limited technical data (such as IP address and device/app version) as needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.

We do not collect precise location, and we do not access your camera, photo library (except as described in Section 2.4), or contacts.

2.3 Microphone

The App requests microphone permission because recording your voice is the core of the game. We ask for this permission before your first round, and the App explains why before the system prompt appears.

The microphone is active only while you are holding the record button during a round. It is not active on any other screen, it is not active while the App is in the background, and we do not perform any always-on listening. If you deny microphone permission, you can still browse the App, join rooms, listen to other players, and vote, but you cannot record.

You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.

2.4 Photo library

If you choose to save a finished track or video to your device, the App requests write-only access to your photo library. This lets us add the file. It does not let us read, browse, or collect anything already in your photo library.

2.5 Tracking

If you are 18 or over: On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework asks whether you allow the App to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you allow it, we and our advertising partners may use the IDFA to measure and optimize our advertising. If you decline, we do not access the IDFA, and our advertising measurement is limited to privacy-preserving and aggregated methods (such as Apple's SKAdNetwork). You can change this choice at any time in your device settings — see Section 11.

If you are under 18: We do not show you the ATT prompt, we do not access your advertising identifier, and we do not share your information with advertising platforms for measurement or targeting. Our analytics for these users is limited to what we need to operate and improve the App.

2.6 About your anonymous account

Because your account is anonymous, most of the information above is associated with an anonymous account identifier and device identifiers rather than with your real-world identity. Your voice, however, is inherently personal — please read Section 3 carefully.

3. Your Recordings

This section explains the most sensitive thing Jammr handles. Please read it in full.

What we record. Audio captured through your device microphone while you hold the record button during a round. Each recording is short — typically a few seconds to around fifteen seconds.

What we do with it.

  • We store your recording so it can be played back to you and to the other players in your room.

  • We combine recordings from your room into a single finished track or video (the "combined result") at the end of a game.

  • We store your recordings and the combined result so you and your room can play them again later.

  • We use aggregated, non-identifying technical measurements (such as how often recordings fail to capture) to improve reliability.

What we do not do with it.

  • We do not create voiceprints or any biometric identifier from your recordings. We do not use them to identify, authenticate, or match you, and we do not perform voice analysis, speaker recognition, or biometric processing of any kind.

  • We do not use your recordings to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, and we do not license or provide them to any third party for that purpose.

  • We do not share your recordings with advertisers. Ever.

  • We do not sell your recordings.

Who can hear your recordings. Everyone in the room you are playing in. See Section 4.1 — this is the most important practical privacy consideration in the App.

Be careful what you say. Your recording is heard by everyone in your room and may end up in a file that any of them can save and share publicly. Do not say anything you would not want repeated, forwarded, or posted. Do not record other people without their knowledge or consent, and do not record in a place where others have a reasonable expectation of privacy. Do not include financial account numbers, passwords, addresses, health information, or other sensitive details in a recording.

Moderation. We use automated tools and, where content is reported or flagged, limited human review, to detect recordings that violate our Terms of Use — including harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, and content that endangers a minor. This means a member of our team may listen to a recording that has been flagged.

4. How We Share Information

We share information as described below. We do not sell your personal information for money.

4.1 With other players — please read this

Jammr is a multiplayer game, and the following is visible or audible to other people by design:

  • Your recordings, to every player in your room.

  • Your display handle and avatar, to every player in your room.

  • Your votes are anonymous during voting, but your results, points, and whether you won are shown to the room afterwards.

  • Your status (recording, finished) while a game is in progress.

Anyone with the invite link can join a room. Invite links are shareable, and we cannot control who a link is forwarded to. Only share a room link with people you want in the game.

Combined results can leave the App. Any player in your room can save the finished track or video to their device and share it anywhere — social media, messaging apps, or elsewhere. Once that happens, it is outside our control and outside this Privacy Policy. If you do not want your voice to potentially end up on the internet, do not record.

4.2 Service providers

  • Supabase — hosting, authentication, and database/storage for your account, recordings, and game data.

  • Mux — media hosting, processing, and delivery for recordings and combined results.

  • RevenueCat — management of in-app purchases and subscriptions.

  • PostHog — product analytics (how the App is used, crash and performance data).

  • Apple App Store / Google Play — process your in-app purchases under their own terms. We receive confirmation of a transaction, not your full payment-card details.

  • Apple — if you create a profile using Sign in with Apple, Apple provides us with a private identifier. We do not receive your Apple ID email unless you choose to share it.

  • Music and content licensors — we receive aggregate reporting obligations relating to how often licensed tracks are played. We report play counts, not who played them.

All providers in this Section are contractually limited to using your information only on our behalf and only for the purposes we specify.

4.3 Advertising and measurement partners (adult users only)

This Section does not apply to users who have told us they are under 18. For those users, we do not share information with any advertising partner.

  • AppsFlyer — our mobile attribution and marketing-measurement provider. AppsFlyer receives device and advertising identifiers (including the IDFA where you have granted ATT permission, the IDFV, and the AppsFlyer ID), your anonymous Jammr account identifier as a customer user ID, IP address, and install, session, and conversion events.

  • Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram) — receives limited advertising and event data (such as installs, registrations, and purchases, together with the associated advertising identifier where available) so we can measure and optimize our advertising campaigns.

  • TikTok (ByteDance) — receives limited advertising and event data for the same purposes. Where our attribution provider's advanced data-sharing setting is enabled, AppsFlyer forwards attribution data to TikTok.

These advertising partners may act as independent controllers of the data they receive and may combine it with other information they hold about you. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies. They may process data in the United States and other countries.

Your recordings and combined results are never shared with these partners.

4.4 Other disclosures

Legal reasons. We may disclose information to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms of Use; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Chaptr, our users, or the public; or to address fraud, abuse, or security issues.

Child safety. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, as appropriate, to law enforcement.

Corporate transactions. If Chaptr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

With your consent. We may share information for other purposes if you give us permission.

5. Music, Sounds, and Third-Party Content

The backing tracks, instrumentals, sound clips, and source material available in Jammr are licensed to us by third parties, or are original works we create or commission. We report usage data (such as how many times a track was played) to our licensors as our agreements require. This reporting is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

Licensed content may be added, changed, or removed at any time, including content used in a game you have already played. If a licence ends, we may need to remove or mute affected material, including in combined results already generated. We will not delete your own recordings for this reason where we can avoid it.

6. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service — run rooms, capture and store recordings, generate combined results, track scores and results, and operate your account.

  • Process purchases — facilitate in-app purchases and subscriptions.

  • Send notifications — tell you when everyone in your room has finished, when someone is waiting on you, and when a game is ready to judge. You control these in your device settings.

  • Improve the Service — analyze usage, fix bugs, and improve performance and recording reliability, using aggregated and de-identified data.

  • Keep the Service safe — detect prohibited content, harassment, abuse, and fraud, and act on reports.

  • Measure and improve our advertising — for adult users only, as described in Section 4.3.

  • Comply with law — respond to legal obligations and process.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data (anonymous identifier, birth date, handle, avatar) — for as long as your account is active.

  • Voice recordings — retained for 12 months after the game they belong to, or until you delete them or close your account, whichever comes first. You can delete your recordings in the App.

  • Combined results — retained for 12 months, or until every player in that room has deleted them or closed their account. Note that a copy another player saved to their own device is outside our control and is not affected by deletion.

  • Game history, scores, and results — until you delete them or close your account.

  • Flagged content under review — retained as long as needed to complete review and, where an account is actioned, to maintain a record of enforcement.

  • Purchase records — as required for tax and accounting purposes (up to 7 years).

  • Attribution, advertising, and analytics data — retained for a limited period consistent with our providers' standard retention periods, then aggregated or deleted.

  • Technical logs — retained for a limited period for security and debugging, then aggregated or deleted.

  • Backups — purged on a rolling 90-day cycle.

After account deletion, we may retain aggregated or de-identified data that cannot be linked back to you.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored recordings, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@jammr.app.

9. Age Requirement and Teen Users

Minimum age 13. Jammr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We ask for your birth date at onboarding and do not permit accounts for anyone under 13. If we learn that a person under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and the associated information, including any recordings.

Users aged 13 to 17. We apply additional protections automatically:

  • No App Tracking Transparency prompt and no collection of your advertising identifier.

  • No sharing of your information with advertising platforms for measurement, targeting, or optimization.

  • No advertising personalized to you.

  • Profiles default to their most private available settings.

A note for parents. Jammr involves recording your child's voice and sharing it with the other people in their game room, who may save and re-share the result outside the App. If you have questions, or want us to delete a teen's account and recordings, email support@jammr.app.

If you believe someone under 13 is using Jammr, contact us at support@jammr.app.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email support@jammr.app. Because your account is anonymous, we may ask for information (such as your anonymous account identifier or handle) to locate your data and verify your request. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

Deleting recordings. You can delete individual recordings and your game history in the App at any time. Deleting a recording removes it from combined results we hold going forward, but cannot recover copies already saved or shared by other players.

California. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) applies to businesses that meet certain thresholds. To the extent it applies to Chaptr, California residents have the rights described above, plus the right to be free from discrimination for exercising them. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. For adult users, our advertising measurement — including sharing advertising identifiers and event data with Meta and TikTok as described in Section 4.3 — may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA, and may be treated as a "sale" or "targeted advertising" under other state privacy laws. You can opt out as described in Section 11. We do not sell or share the personal information of users we know to be under 16. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals on our website.

Biometric information. We do not create, collect, capture, or store voiceprints, facial geometry, or any other biometric identifier as those terms are defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, or similar laws. Your voice recordings are stored and played back as audio only, and are not processed to identify you.

EU / UK / EEA. If the EU or UK GDPR applies to our processing, the controller is Chaptr Inc. at the address above. Our lawful bases are contract performance (providing the Service), consent (for microphone access, and, for adult users, for advertising and measurement involving device identifiers), legitimate interests (security, moderation, fraud prevention, and product improvement), and legal obligation. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, including the right to object to processing for direct marketing, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us at support@jammr.app.

11. Your Advertising Choices

These choices apply to adult users. If you are under 18, we already do not use your information for advertising.

  • iOS (App Tracking Transparency). Decline the tracking prompt, or change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, we do not access your IDFA.

  • Android. You can delete or reset your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

  • Ask us directly. Email support@jammr.app to opt out of the sharing of your information for advertising purposes, and we will apply the opt-out to your account.

  • Global Privacy Control. Our website honors GPC signals where applicable.

  • Advertising platforms. You can also adjust ad-personalization settings directly with Meta and TikTok through your accounts on those platforms.

Opting out of advertising measurement does not stop you from using Jammr, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising this choice.

12. Cookies (Website)

The App does not use cookies. Our website at jammr.app uses only essential cookies needed to operate the Site. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by in-app notice or a prominent notice on the Site at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
